Silverware ideas for weddings and special events
Silver has always had a place at Lebanese weddings, engagements and family celebrations. Here are some of the ways our clients use it to make an event feel special.
A sweets and dragées table
A table of sweets, chocolates and dragées is often the centrepiece of the reception. Mixing heights brings it to life:
- Cake and pastry stands to lift the main pieces.
- Sweets bowls and candy boxes in different sizes for chocolates and dragées.
- Trays to group smaller pieces and keep the table organised.
Engraved favours and keepsakes
Small silver-plated boxes engraved with the couple’s names, the date or a short message make favours that guests keep, rather than throw away. A classic is a candy box engraved with “Kheir w Baraka”.
Names, dates and messages can be engraved to make each piece personal.
Candlelight
Silver reflects candlelight beautifully. Candle holders along the tables, or one larger piece at the head table, give warmth for evening receptions.
Serving the guests
For a seated dinner or a buffet, silver serving pieces set the tone: chafing dishes to keep food warm, oriental coffee pots for the coffee service, and matching trays and bowls.
Gifts for the couple and the family
A silver tray, a tea set or a centrepiece remains a gift the couple uses for years. Many families also choose silver to thank parents, witnesses or the wedding party.
